ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
Director, Geosciences Distance Learning Programs 2012 -
As director, I serve in the following capacities as necessary for the development and administration of the department’s distance programs in Broadcast Meteorology, Operational Meteorology, Teachers in Geoscience, Applied Meteorology, and Environmental Geosciences, which together serve approximately 400 majors.
  1. Supervisory: conduct annual reviews of distance learning lecturers, identify and recommend new candidates for lecturer positions
  2. Programmatic administration: determine course offerings and prepare schedules, plan workshops, coordinate field course offerings
  3. Student advisement: advise academic coordinator on course substitution where needed, provide an ear for student concerns
  4. Assessment: perform program assessment for institutional effectiveness, coordinate programmatic attainment of international standards, oversee all concentration-wide examinations
  5. Marketing: create content for web, brochures, make marketing decisions, recruit students
